Jekaterina Viltšenko (she/they) is a Helsinki-based composer, sound designer, and artist. They are currently studying Music Technology at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki.
Jekaterina's work spans a wide range of genres and practices, including electroacoustic composition, live performance, and sound design for stage and visual media.
Through sonic storytelling, they explore the boundaries of music, experimentation, and narrative. Their work moves between the familiar and the reimagined—where raw sound is stretched, sculpted, and transformed into textured landscapes and abstractions. Themes of connectedness, belonging, periphery, and intimacy echo through their electroacoustic works, each piece a gesture toward presence and a sense of place.
Over the years, Jekaterina has collaborated on projects that explore a wide range of themes, from social issues to personal stories both within the frame of traditional theater pieces and beyond, towards experimental forms of art.
Jekaterina has collaborated with artists, organisations, and ensembles such as Melisa Yıldırım, Diana Harten, Iida-Maria Kuronen, Maria Krugovaya, Maissi Uusitalo, NYKY Ensemble, Helsingin Kellariteatteri, Theatre Academy, and others.
